This painting was inspired by a trip to Mexico City... don't get me wrong, I loved Mexico City, but there was a lot of traffic and it was smoggy (although, I must say it wasn’t nearly as smoggy as I thought it might be). Should you visit? Yes, absolutely! The history there is amazing... from the modern skyscrapers to the colonial Spanish architecture and all the way back to the ancient Aztec and Mayan art and sculpture you can see in their museums... I was awed, inspired, and overwhelmed all at the same time.
